The Southbend S36D S-series range comes with six 24,000 BTU, no-clog burners that have crumb trays underneath to catch grease and debris to keep the unit clean. Each burner comes equipped with a rugged cast iron grate that spreads heat evenly and helps provide quick temperature recovery. The rear grate can hold a stock pot that is 14" in diameter. Plates or pans can be set on the 4", stainless steel front rail. The oven produces 35,000 BTUs and has a snap action thermostat range of 175 to 550 degrees Fahrenheit. Heat is evenly distributed in the oven cavity because of the U-shape of the burner. If the pilot light goes out, gas stops flowing because of the flame failure safety device (oven only). The cavity is insulated with rock wool that is self-supporting. There are two position rack guides with one removable rack on the inside of the oven. The entire Southbend S36D S-series range is heated with gas.
